Building a more inclusive VC ecosystem, one investment at a time.

Anima is a community convened by Ship2B Ventures. We bring together women from family offices, senior leadership, and entrepreneurship, united by a shared belief that gender-lens investing creates stronger portfolios and better outcomes for society.

How we work

Three layers of impact

01

The investment

We direct private capital toward impact-driven ventures, companies solving real problems in health, aging, and climate. Every euro is deployed through a gender lens, on the conviction that it builds stronger portfolios and better outcomes for society.

02

The investors

We bring more women into the room where capital decisions are made, from family offices to senior executives to first-time investors. Because who allocates capital shapes what gets funded, and today only 11% of VC decision-makers are women.

03

The founders and the consumers

More women deciding means more women founders backed, and more products built with women in mind. From healthcare that finally studies women's bodies to markets the mainstream has long overlooked.

Our framework

Guided by the 2X Criteria

Anima applies the 2X Criteria, the global standard for gender-lens investing, to evaluate how businesses contribute to women's economic empowerment. It goes beyond who is at the top.

A company qualifies when women represent a meaningful share of founders, senior leadership, the workforce, or the supply chain, or when its core product or service directly and intentionally benefits women.

Entrepreneurship

At least one female founder, or 51%+ female ownership.

Leadership

30%+ of senior leadership positions held by women.

Employment

30%+ of the workforce are women, with quality jobs and equal opportunity.

Supply chain

Meaningful sourcing from women-owned businesses.

Products & services

Core offering directly improves the lives or economic participation of women.

How we contribute

Our areas of impact

For the women of Anima, capital is only the start. These are the areas where we work to close the gaps above.

01

Increased access to venture capital

Our investment vehicle brings the minimum ticket down, so more women can put capital directly into impact-driven venture, without running a fund of their own.

02

Dealflow source expansion

Our members sit at privileged nodes across the ecosystem and use them, surfacing and championing female-led companies so strong founders get backed earlier.

03

Media activation

Not all capital is financial. We put our media reach, press relationships, and public voice behind the founders and causes the community backs.

04

Community building

We design and run the gatherings, workshops, and forums that keep this community alive: time, networks, and energy that count as much as capital.
