BZero
Reimagining the materials of the future for a more sustainable industry.
Why do we like BZero?
Problem
Although bioplastics can help reduce CO₂ emissions, the main challenge for greater adoption is that many existing bioplastics do not have the same functionalities as fossil-based plastics while also having a higher cost.
Solution
Pellets or a compostable bioplastic compound based on potato starch. Its formulation can increase the starch content up to 70% compared to current commercial bioplastic brands, which only reach 50%, resulting in a ~20% price reduction and increased sustainability.
Impact
To develop, produce, and commercialize bioplastics with a reduced carbon footprint (even ‘net zero’) for converters and brands, maintaining the quality of fossil-based plastic while minimizing the cost increase to sustainable alternatives (green premium).
