Problem

Close to 90% of people over the age of 65 would like to age at home to stay close to memories, places and objects that were part of their life. Despite the need to move to a nursing home, a barrier for this process is not only the detachment of personal memories and identity, but also the current care models that dehumanise the users.

Solution

Envita provides a digital solution to humanise and personalise the care of elderly people. They have developed a methodology that draws a person’s life story from the past (memories) to understand the present (routines, interests, and wishes) and build a life project, including end-of-life wishes.

Impact

Preserve the autonomy and participation of the individual through a person-centered care (PPC) model, which improves their quality of life. Particularly, the benefits of the PPC model benefits at the same time elderly people, family members, care professionals, and care organisations.
